How much will my mobile bill go up in April 2027?

It depends on your network and on when your current plan started. If you joined or upgraded since spring or summer 2024 (the date varies by network), the rise is a fixed amount in pounds and pence written into your contract: for most phone and SIM only plans it is £1 to £2.50 a month on Three, Vodafone and O2, and £1.50 to £4 on EE. If your plan started earlier and you are still on its original price rise terms, the rise is a percentage linked to inflation, and nobody can say what it will be until the inflation figure is published early in 2027. EE's rise comes on 31 March 2027 (1 March if your minimum term has ended); O2, Three and Vodafone raise prices in April. These figures were checked on each network's own pages on 28 October 2026.

Fixed rises, network by network

This table covers plans with a fixed rise. The date is when your current plan started, which is your last upgrade if you have upgraded, not when you first joined the network.

EE

EE's annual price changes page says that since April 2024 its rises have been set in pounds and pence. During your minimum term the rise is applied each 31 March; once your minimum term has ended, the rise to your plan charge is applied each 1 March instead. EE also lists £1.50 for laptop, tablet and watch plans and Mobile Broadband taken out from 10 April 2024. Its own example: a SIM Only plan taken out at £25 a month on a 24-month contract goes to £27.50 from 31 March 2026 and £30 from 31 March 2027. Out-of-bundle charges, such as calls abroad, rise by 5%. The page doesn't give the rise for plans taken out before 10 April 2024; for those, EE points you to its price guides.

Three

Three applies its rise on 1 April. Its page for plans from 9 November 2025 gives £1.80, £1.90 or £2.30 by data allowance, and its page for plans from 8 September 2024 to 8 November 2025 gives £1, £1.25 or £1.50. Smartwatch pairing plans rise by the lowest amount in each table. On both, the rise applies only to your Monthly Charge, not to device payments. Three also moved customers who joined or upgraded between 29 May 2015 and 7 September 2024, and who were already out of their minimum term on 31 March 2026, onto the £1.80, £1.90 and £2.30 amounts, on its page for those customers.

Vodafone

Vodafone's annual price rise page applies the rise on 1 April. Pay monthly plans that include Vodafone TV and started from 12 November 2025 rise by £4. On Vodafone EVO, only your Airtime Plan rises, not your Device Plan. Because airtime is billed in advance, the April rise first shows on your March bill, charged only for the days from 1 April. Vodafone says it doesn't raise prices for customers on its social tariffs or customers registered as financially vulnerable.

O2

O2's annual price change page says that from April 2027 voice plans rise by £2.50 a month and data-only and smartwatch plans by 75p, and that device plans stay the same. Its example takes a £30 airtime plan to £32.50 from April 2027. The page doesn't break the rise down by when your plan started, and says the fixed amounts that apply to you are in your contract forms. Out-of-bundle charges rise by 5% each year from 1 April.

Older plans: a rise linked to inflation

Some plans that started before mid-2024 still carry a percentage rise each April:

For April 2027 the percentage will rest on the December 2026 CPI figure, which the Office for National Statistics publishes in January 2027, so it can't be known yet. To estimate it, add 3.9 to the latest CPI rate and apply that to your monthly plan charge: on a £20 plan, every 1% is 20p a month.

Three's and Vodafone's pages don't say what happens to a CPI plan whose minimum term ends between April 2026 and March 2027. If yours does, wait for your network's notice of the rise and go by the figure in it.

How to find your own figure

  1. Find the date your current plan started, in your network's app or account. If you have upgraded, it's the upgrade date.
  2. Look up your plan type and start date on your network's page above.
  3. Watch for your network's notice. EE says it typically tells customers between January and mid-March, and Three says it will remind you by text, email or letter.

A fixed rise repeats every April for as long as your contract runs, so it adds up: an Unlimited SIM only plan on Three that started at £30 in December 2025 went to £32.30 in April 2026 and goes to £34.60 in April 2027. If your minimum term has ended, a new SIM only deal may cost less than your plan after the rise. Compare before you renew.
